The Cats

"Cats are connoisseurs of comfort"

James Herriot

This is Lucky. He was from a litter of five ferals that were trapped and relocated near where I was living. Lucky used to come in through the open window for food and he got used to being inside. After 2 years, he allowed me to pet him for the frist time. He has been with me ever since.

This is Nutmeg. I got her when i was living in Colorado. She was traped and brought to the Boulder Valley Humane Society. She gave birth while there and I took her in to foster. Sad to say, the kittnes all died. Nutmeg was considered unadoptable being that she was on the wild side. I ended up keeping her because I did not want her to be put to sleep. She has been with me for little over 5 years now. She has really ajusted very well to living indoors and she seems happy and gets along well with the others.

This is Mandy. She is the only survivor out of a litter of 3 that I was fostering. It really is hard with kittens. They have such a high mortality rate and these had a rough start in life. Mandy is very shy and does not like people. She likes to hang out on my bed. I have to sneak up on her when it is time to get brushed. She does not like it at all.

This is Tristan. He as well as his brother Siegfried are named after charactors from the books of James Herriot. Sometime after I lost my dear Ren, I adopted Tristan and Siegfried. Tristan shortlly after coming home with me, became very ill. He had a very high temp and was so weak that he could not stand up. I thought I was going to lose him and I just could not bear it. Thankfully, he did recover and to this day 2 years later, he is healthy and happy. Never did figure out what was wrong with him.

This is Siegfried. He is a reather shy fellow and it took some time for him to warm up to me.. I got him the same time as Tristan and they are the same age. Siegfried likes to hang out with Rose my Chihuahua. When it comes to feeding time, he insists that the food be brought upstairs to him. he does not like to eat round the others.

This is Abby. She also came from Colorado. I was fostering her along with her sister. They were both very shy and I was working with them so that they could be adoptable. Since Abby never did come around, she ended up staying with me. To this day, she will not allow me to touch her.

Here is Max. I adopted him from the local animal shelter not too long after I lost Ren. He is a very sweet kitty, however he does have a spraying problem. I seem to spend a lot of time cleaning up after him. I often wonder if that is the reason he ended up in the shelter. He will always have a home with me.
