Life in Colorado

I'm a California native who moved to Boulder Colorado just over 2 years ago. I guess you could say this is a big change for me. I really am happy here. I so enjoy the mountains and all the wildlife. Going hiking is on of my favorite things to do. There is so much to see and do.

One of my favorite places is Estes Park. I think it is so cool how there are deer and Elk all over the place. They seem to have no fear of people. About a year ago, I stayed at a bed and breakfast for a

weekend. It was really cool  to sit outside in the morning with  my coffee and watch the Elk come over to eat. The owner of the place I stayed at had food for them so they would come every morning to eat. It was like being in another world. I think weekend getaways are the best.

Another place that I really enjoy visiting is Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park. Even during the summer time, there are places real high up that still have some snow. I like to stop and watch the Elk herds that are out grassing. It is amazing how big some of them are.

For a city, Denver is very nice. It is nothing like Los Angeles and there is so much to do.

I really enjoy walking around down town and watching all the different people.  One of my favorite walks is along the Plate River.

Most of all though, hiking in the mountains is what I enjoy the most. There are so many different trails to explore.

This is in a small town called Marshall which is close to Boulder. This trail is about a mile or so long and an easy hike. This is a hike that I like to do when I don't have the whole day. It also is good for doing after work in the summer when it stays light until almost 9pm.  There are not too many people on this trail which is real nice.

Mesa Trail

Here is a really nice place to go hiking. There are miles of trails here. The one I was on is called Mesa Trail.

I would like to take a horse up here.  It was such a beautiful day
